    Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson

    Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known as “the Rebbe,” was the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and is one of the most recognizable men in Judaism.

    Rabbi Schneerson was born on April 18, 1902, in Nikolayev, a town in the southern Ukraine.

    His father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchock Schneerson, was a renowned scholar, while his mother, Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson, was an aristocratic woman from a prestigious rabbinic family. He had two younger brothers, Dovber and Yisroel Aryeh Leib.
