    Early Life and Leadership

    Abdul Ali Mazari was a prominent leader of the Hazara mojahedin during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and its aftermath.

    Born into a devout Hazara family, Mazari witnessed firsthand the discrimination and marginalization faced by the Hazara people. This experience ignited within him a deep commitment to fighting for their rights and justice.

    Establishment of Hezb-e Wahdat

    In 1990, amidst the chaos of the Afghan civil war, Mazari founded the Hezb-e Wahdat (Unity Party) of Afghanistan.

    This Shia political organization played a significant role in representing the interests of the Hazara community. Mazari firmly believed that the establishment of an Islamic government based on the principles of just
